Inception and Development
From 1993 onwards the Claretians have been rendering missionary service at Chodavaram, adout 50 kilometers away from the port city, Vishakhapatnam. In 2004 the Archbishop of Vishakhapatnam offered to the missionaries Velanganni MathaChurch, Kailasapuram. His Grace Most Rev. Mariadass, Archbishop of Vishkhapatnam erected a new parish here on July 15, 2004, bifurcating it from Saligrampuram parish. Fr. Tom Vellapatt has been appointed the first parish priest of Kailasapuram Church. The Multi Media center in Vishakhapatnam is also taken care of from this center.

Pastoral Ministry
The parish is a vibrant one with nearly hundred people turning up for the daily mass here. Family apostolate, catechism for children and adults, youth empowerment program are some of the other regular activities here.

Claret Multi Media Centre
In November 1997 Claretian Publications opened an extension centre – Claret Multi Media Centre (CMMC) – in Visakhapatnam to enhance its marketing possibilities in the Central and North India. This was opened as sales outlet of the Claretian Publications, under the guidance of Fr. Jacob Arackal, the then Director. The centre was registered on 25 November 1997 and began operating in the Cathedral buildings of St Ann’s Co-Cathedral, Visakhapatnam. The Multi Media Centre is so far the only one of its kind in the region, making available all kinds of liturgical and religious articles, devotional audio-visuals, statues and books.
