Inception and Development
At the invitation of Rev. Fr. Thomas Pullopillil, Bishop of Bongaigon, we the Claretians missionaries started a Mission At Kachugaon. It was officially inaugurated on 14 March 2005. The people of the Parish belong to four tribal groups – Bodos, Rabhas, Santhalis and Adivasis. The parish is established by bifurcating the parishes of Soraibil, Gossaigon, Dotma. At present the Residence of the Missionaries is under construction. |
Pastoral Ministry
The parish has 25 villages with a population of 2,500 people. Since it is new parish, it offers a lot of possibilities for evangelization. A few years back the area has witnessed a terrible war between two ethnic groups, which claimed thousands of precious lives. Therefore, to bring peace and unity in the area is one of the priorities of the Mission
