Inception and Development
At the invitation of Archbishop of Guwahati, Most Rev. Thomas Menamparampil, the Claretians opened the St Claret School in 1995 at Borjhar close to the Gwahati International Airport.

Pastoral Ministry
The Archdiocese raised the Centre to the status of a parish in 1998, bifurcating it from the parish of Sonaiguli. The parish has 8 Catholic villages with over 700 Catholics belonging to Garo, Rabha and Adivasis.


Educational Apostolate
The parish at present has a school, which is being upgraded into a high school. There are 450 students in the School. The Mission started a Boarding with 14 students in the year 2005. The extension of the School is on progress.
Franciscan Sisters of Blessed Sacrament and Missinaries of Charity are rendering their service in the Mission.
